Excerpt from book

“Developing products for seniors is nothing new. For years, interest in the so-called ‘young old’ has been growing. The project ‘Over 60 – Design for Tomorrow’ addresses this topic with original and highly innovative concepts. Over the course of one semester, three universities in Schneeberg, Halle and Bozen developed design objects for senior citizens. In addition, the students reflected extensively on the purpose and process of ageing, along with its social relevance. One important consideration for the students from the very beginning was to not only think of the current older generation, but also keep in mind that they themselves are the seniors of tomorrow. The aim of the project is to make the everyday lives of senior citizens easier with objects and furniture that they will need, but that do not look like they came from a standard medical supply shop.”
