The house was built in the early 20th century in Markkleeberg, a middle-class town on the outskirts of Leipzig. The complicated shape of the pyramid roof with the small tower gives the house a unique character. The rooms had a very narrow appearance owing to the steep roof, so the idea was to keep them open. The bathroom unit and kitchen are located in the middle of the room, like two cubes made of glass blocks. The unique roof structure is visible, and the rooms are flooded with natural light from all sides. A mobile stairway made of steel connects the living room with the bedroom and doubles as a coat rack.
